Design Studio Explorations
Details: Monash WES — Service & System UX Exploration
Intent: Design an approachable icon set to communicate ideas such as mindfulness, growth, rest, and social connection using simple, universal visual language.
What I did: Researched existing icon systems, explored visual metaphors through sketching, then translated and refined the icons in Adobe Illustrator into a cohesive set.
Design choices: Used bold, high-contrast silhouettes with subtle line details, consistent proportions and spacing, and ensured the icons worked clearly in both black and white contexts.
Iteration: Refined the set through peer feedback, focusing on clarity, visual balance, use of positive/negative space, and consistency across the system.
A systems-focused UX study to simplify enrolment and reduce confusion.
Details: Typography Fundamentals
A typography-led exploration of rhythm and fundamentals through expressive layouts and an instructional compendium.
Intent: Translate typography fundamentals into expressive compositions.
What I did: Poster series + compendium exploring hierarchy, repetition, pacing.
What I learned: Rules first → experimentation second.
Layout and hierarchy exercises exploring readability and structure.
Details: Eight Principles
Process documentation for my “Eight Principles of Design” motion graphic, covering research, storyboards, and concept development.
Intent: Communicate design principles through motion, not static explanation.
What I did: Research + storyboards + concept refinement, then production planning.
What I learned: Strong motion comes from clear structure first, timing and spacing do the teaching.
A visual breakdown exploring balance, contrast, rhythm, and emphasis.

Intent: Design an approachable icon set that communicates ideas like mindfulness, growth, rest, and social connection with simple, universal visuals.
What I did: Researched icon precedents, sketched concepts, then translated and refined the set in Adobe Illustrator into a unified system.
Design choices: Bold, high-contrast silhouettes with subtle line details; consistent proportions/spacing; designed to work on black + white backgrounds.
Iteration: Incorporated peer feedback (clarity, connections, positive/negative space, readability) to improve consistency and meaning

Details: BrodoStudio — Brand & Website Exploration
Intent: Design a contemporary digital presence for a creative studio that feels confident, minimal, and expressive, while communicating professionalism and creative depth through layout, typography, and motion.
What I did: Developed the brand direction and designed the website layout in Figma, exploring page structure, typography, colour usage, and interaction patterns. Focused on how visual decisions shape first impressions and brand perception.
Design choices: A clean, minimal layout with strong typography, consistent spacing, and a restrained colour palette to keep the experience clear and modern.
Iteration: Refined layout, spacing, and hierarchy through self-critique and peer feedback, improving flow, visual consistency, and overall legibility across sections.
Web experiments exploring interaction, layout, and responsive structure.
